Good value for money, easy to use, and plenty of channels.
Motorola always make good radios, the range is shorter than stated unless you have a clear line of sight. I have had clear comms over a distance of 1.8 miles. The signal is good and stable, and the handsets are easy to set up and use. NiMH batteries do not have the charge capacity of a LiON battery but they do the job, just have AAA batteries to hand to back them up is required. Overall a good radio that does not require a licence. These were bought to replace broken Kenwood radios used for retail security guards. Received the radio's. Nice little hand set. BUT, 8 miles no way. Sent my daughter out with a radio, mostly bungalows in the area. 9 hundred yards then nothing.but for what I want them for will suiet me . Used for on the lake with my brother if we are on different swims

Small and well designed, with rugged body and good reception.
The handsets are constructed to last, they're small but tough, with rubberised grips and easy to use soft touch buttons, The LCD display is clearly readable with a backlit LCD screen. We've tried these walkie talkies in a number of different environments, both built up and open land, in both case we transmitted and received clearly audible conversation over short distances. However in built-up areas you would be hard pushed to achieve more than two miles without substantial interference and/or loss of reception. The supplied battery packs are rechargeable, both in and out of the handset, offering easy battery replacement and recharging. However the batteries which supposed to last up to 16 hours (total standby time) not talk-time. One main advantage is that you can also operate these ... Lightweight, easy to use, clear reception, great battery life, and reasonably priced, only one small criticism, the lanyard loop would be better on the top or the side as it has to be removed to nest the handset for charging.
