This is an outstanding seller to deal with. Fair prices that are more than reasonable in this economy. The product is in better condition than described, a true value for my money. Packaged and shipped well shows seller has concern for the products he sells to arrive in excellent condition. The seller is friendly and communicates timely with his customers. I highly recommend this seller and would do business again anytime. Thank you!

Great seller! Item is what I ordered; good communication; shipped promptly; good value. NOTE TO SELLER: packaging was NOT appropriate for item; it was a flimsy, plastic envelope, with no stiff material to prevent creases. The book came with two deep creases that involved the *entire* item: one is a 1" triangle lower left side (bound edge); the other is a 7" triangle on upper right side (open edge).

Guide to hand sewing Japanese fabric gifts

This book is a good guide to hand sewing Japanese style gifts. The book has full size templates, the individual projects have illustrated instructions. Basic hand sewing skills are enough to make these projects. The author recommends to start with the easier items which tend to be based on rectangular/triangle and square shapes. The projects are not appropriate for machine sewing, but they aren't difficult to hand sew. Each project has illustrated instructions, not step by step photographs. The author includes cultural information as well as anecdotes.

  • A pleasant foray into a traditional Japanese craft

Although my collection of books on textiles and diverse needle arts half fills a tall bookcase, that never stops me from looking for a new addition. When I bid on this book, I was expecting it to demonstrate how to make flowers and origami-style decorations out of silk fabrics. That is only the start of what this wonderful book has to offer. Many of the flower shapes are actually small purses, pouches, pin cushions, and sachets, some doubling as brooches or pendants. It presents a range of charming shapes: fish, butterflies, birds, bunnies, and pinecones. To celebrate a birth, or just for fun, there are several variations of bundled-up babies to hold a comb and compact, party-favor mints, small trinkets, and so forth. Every project in this book produces something useful, even if for no ...
