    All historians and any person interested in the Second World War kmows that the Battle of The Atlantic had to be endured and won. Without the ships Britain would not have had the food weapons and ,more importantly, the fuel to carry the fight to Germany. Their submarines could cut that lifeline, and very nearly did. This book takes a behind the scenes look at the attempts Bletchley Park made to break the German Navy's Submarine codes. They had broken the Luftwaffe and army traffic because their operators were negligent in using Enigma, but the Navy was a lot more disciplined and mid war bought in a new Enigma with an extra rota, the efforts to break into this new machine are described here.
