Star Wars: Dark Forces puts you into the Star Wars universe as a mercenary named Kyle Katarn, employed by the Rebel Alliance. Control Katarn from a first-person perspective as you journey through 3D levels featuring indoor and outdoor environments. You're able to run, jump, duck, and look up or down. <br><br>While missions vary in purpose, your overall objective requires the investigation (and eventual destruction) of deadly new Imperial soldiers called "Dark Troopers." Your adventure takes you to underground mines, sludge-filled sewers, arctic installations, deserted cities, scum-filled space ports, and aboard Imperial spacecraft.<br><br>Opponents include Stormtroopers, Probe Droids, deadly gun turrets, axe-wielding Gamorrean guards, sewer-dwelling Dianogas, the bounty hunter Boba Fett, and the Dark Troopers themselves. Your arsenal varies from a simple blaster to a heavy-duty mortar gun, and you must collect power-ups, keys and other special items to survive each mission and progress to the next.<br><br>The 14 missions are completed in a linear manner, with your assistant Jan Ors providing valuable assistance along the way. There is no "quick-save" option, so missions must be restarted from the beginning once your lives expire.

    Cool DOS game, but...

    This is a fun little DOS game. I run it on my Macbook using DOSBox, which runs it fantastically. Now, let me warn you though, this is an old game: it's cool, but it's not that cool. Just keep that in mind, this game is really fun, but if you're not into old FPS games or you didn't grow up with these types of games, I would advise against buying it. Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II though is fantastic, (Better than this game even, in my opinion) you might consider buying that first and then this one.

    Great DOS game

    Dark Forces is a great Star Wars DOS game I used to play it all the time as a kid with my brother. It's fun nostalgia wise as well as level design and gameplay wise. There are always hidden areas you didn't know existed and challenges that aren't always found in new games.

    Great value for the money!!! Great game!!

    Before buying it beware that because it is an old game you will have to download something to make it run in a modern computer. Otherwise it will not work. If you enjoy playing Doom, Duke Nukem, Wolf3D, etc... You will have a lot of fun with this game even more if you are fun of Star Wars. I am glad to have the opportunity to play Dark forces again.

    A game to be remembered for its time.

    This game had its day, years and years ago, but with other games like the Force Unleashed being out on the market it is hard to look at the bad graphics of yesteryear. The story is classic Star Wars material and I respect the game for that. If you are a nostalgic Star Wars fan, then I recommend this product to you.
