What a great fun old movie! I bought it for MY kids when they were young, thirty years ago, and now repurchasing for my Grandbabies!! Good clean fun, non-violent, and with a cute soundtrack. Some of the music is featured in the Disney Sing-Along series!! Angela Lansbury, before her Mrs Potts days, and David Tomlinson of Mary Poppins fame...How can you go wrong?

A family fantasy favorite for generations!
Both of my adult daughters loved this movie as children and now they are sharing it with my grandkids. If you are dead-set against magic and witches, don't buy it! But if you are okay with Mary Poppins, the Teenage Witch, and Bewitched, go ahead. It is set during WWII and a bumbling novice witch (Angela Lansbury), with the help of some children who are staying with her to avoid the bombing of London, uses magic to thwart the invading Germans! Flying beds, walking suits of armor and lots of non-bloody conflict in this musical live action / animation film. I had to buy this copy, so we would have one in each household. (By the way, our original vhs tape still works, which shows just how durable vhs can be!)Both of my adult daughters loved this movie as children and now they are sharing it with my grandkids. Bedknobs and Broomsticks Movie
This is a really good musical movie for children. My son loved it when he was small. It was released in 1971 by Walt Disney Productions and mixes live action with annimation as Disney does so well. I liked it much better than Mary Poppins. Angela Lanbury pays a witch, who must travel on her flying bed, to get a spell which will cause inanimate objects move, in order to defend the England coast against a Nazi invation, during WWII. One of my favorite parts of this movie is the animated soccor game played with jungle animals. It is really clever and well done. I bought this movie so that my grandson can watch it, and hopefully will like it as much as his Grandma does.This is a really good musical movie for children. My son loved it when he was small.
