Really awesome game! A must buy for every roleplaying game fan!
Well, I can say I love this game! I heard about this game beeing really good, so I decided to buy it on eBay. And it was worth every cent I spent on it. The graphics and especially the physics of this game are awesome, compared to the release date of Dark Messiah (you have to keep in mind that this game is already several years old). You will never get tired of playing, because the music and the overall mood are at least in my eyes really well made. Sometimes the level has a lot of light, sometimes it gets really dark and there are a lot of little disgusting creeps, but it is never exaggerated, it's well balanced. Another strong point is the blood and gore in this game. This doesn't mean you are always covered in blood like for example in Splatterhouse, it just means that it has this ... It feels like you are in a real world, because you have a lot of freedom and most of the times several ways to complete the quests, and especially several ways to get rid of an enemy. Stealthy players will love this games as much as mages or players who just want to force their way through. It is the overall freedom you have which makes this game so exciting. Compared to the Gothic or the Elder Scrolls series one doesn't have these huge worlds where one can go wherever and whenever one want. It is a bit more linear, but nonetheless I think you won't feel restriced in your movements at all. Like the games mentioned above it has a great roleplaying game character. There are several different weapons like daggers, swords, staffs and bows. Each type plays totally different unlike for example in the Gothic series. It not like you can just click like a madman, you will have to time your hits with your movement. This versatility creates a lot of fun playing this game. There may not be hundreds of different weapons or equipment, but there are enough to make a good game experience. Unlike in the typical roleplaying game the hero won't get experience for killing monsters. There are many point in the games, where he gets skill points. This way the hero can unlock several techpaths, where you as player can decide in which way you want to play through the game. The three general directions are the warrior, the mage, and the rogue. It doesn't matter which path you take, it's not like you can only complete the game if you choose to play warriorish or mageish. It just depends on the way YOU want to play. This is another huge plus. Lastly I want to mention the story. In my opinion the story is quite good. Even if you don't have such a masterpiece of story like in Baldur's Gate, it is stil more than enough to make it interesting and worth it to keep up with the events. Like mentioned somewhere above the hero can change the final outcome of the game depending on his actions, so it doesn't feel linear in the least. There is really only one weak point in this game. It is the difficulty. Well I can't exactly call it a weakpoint, because not all players have experience with this type of game, but if you are someone who has played a lot of roleplaying games or if you are familiar with a lot of games in general, this game feels a little to easy even on the hardest difficulty. I don't want to call myself a super pro, but once I figured out how to combat an enemy without taking damage, this game wasn't tough to finish anymore. But this doesn't really affect my impression of this game, because it is still a hell of a fun game!

Excellent,shows you what can be done with a first person view game
A very fun game. The storyline is a little unoriginal but nowhere near as bad as dragon age. Also has a lot more going for it in the gameplay stakes(i.e. it has some). Ignore the American reviews(I think they only played the demo) which state you only ever kick people into conveniently placed spikes as there is a lot more to the combat that the few times that happens. Doesn't have a huge amount of skills available but you can mix and match as you want with a decent variety of weapons, hidden areas and choices to keep you playing over. All in all an overlooked title that is well worth playing. Much more to it than your generic fps. Excellent. P.S. works on windows 7 64bit.A very fun game.
