Arrived in with dents and broken chassis and broken plug due to very poor packaging (bubble wrap only -not boxed!). Does work though, so not returning. Also, this does not have Firewire as stated in description.

    Top ranking PVR

Superb Humax PVR, undoubtably one of the best types they produced. Excellent menu and EPG, so simple to record and set a timer, brilliant HD picture quality, all round quality in design and set-up. Because this PVR is a little dated the device is no longer much use to stream (unless you have a software update) but that does not bother me at all...I just love it as it performs on Freeview anyway! With very few faults, this is a terrific purchase at a very OK price. I am delighted I got this Humax over more expensive and later versions which, however are not as easy to operate and have more negatives. For me THE "FOX" is one of the best PVRs of all time. Excellent product, highly recommended.

  • Old but best

Probably the best freeview recorder ever made for its time. With custom firmware available its possible to do so many things, including transferring hd recordings to an external hard drive. but because of its age there doesnt seem to be a way of watching streamed content & pushing the portal button will just take some minutes from you until you get back out of that. I wouldn't part with mine.

  • Long discontinued, but it's a great High Definition Freeview DVR

This has long been discontinued but it's a great High Definition Freeview DVR to record two shows at once and watch a third or a recording. I have three of these now, one of the attractions is the ability to network (wired only unless you have the WiFi adaptor) them and view shows recorded on another device. Another advantage is that there is a independent group of enthusiasts that has built an upgrade to the firmware that extends functionality of this box which you can install (at your own risk), as I have done.

  • Best customisable video recorder available

Although it over 10 years old and long out of support thanks to the incredible customised firmware that extends it abilities far beyond its standard capabilities. Both SD and HD recordings can be decrypted for use of the box, Recordings can be scheduled from anywhere in the world with remote support. Ads can be removed from programmes in real time allowing them to be watched ad-free whilst recording is still in progress. Plus much more...

  • Fox T2 the best PVR Humax ever made

In our view, the Fox T2 was the best box Humax made (other than the dismal TV Portal feature) and we bought it to replace a new FVP4000T. The 4000T was simply awful (returned it the next day) and needs a great deal of work to make the user interface anything like as usable and friendly as the T2.
