Great little camera, I bought this for my 4 year old as a birthday gift. It's durable, easy for her to use and takes nice photos. I gave this camera to her for a birthday trip to a water park and it took the beating of a water park, and holds up to the beach. How good is this camera? I shoot slides and my kid wanted to shoot slides like daddy. No film will tell you that your camera does not expose film correctly like slide film, but this camera exposed two whole rolls of slides just fine. Her little friends love how it is brightly colored, and how it takes pictures even in the water, some of them even talked their parents into buying them one. On the down side, the battery for this thing is expensive and because it is auto focus there is some shutter lag.
While studying photography in college a professor said that it is not the equipment but the photographer who make a great photo. Before that I had never owned a PHD (push-here-dummy) but as a challenge I decided to give one a try. I have had my Canon Sureshot WP-1 for about 8 years. It has gone to France, Italy, Spain, Puerto Rico, Disney World, Boston, New York, California and on 2 cruises. In all that time it has never let me down. The photos are always clear and sharp, the battery lasts forever and it can really take a beating. The only case I have for it is the original soft carry case that has no padding whatsoever (it's really just a cover). It is weatherproof and moisture resistant, I've never put it underwater but it has gotten wet a few times from taking pics in the rain. Camera has a built-in flash and auto focus, nothing fancy like you find in other cameras but it has worked great for me. It has a timer, you can disable the flash and even has a close up feature (you have to hold the knob down to use it). Works great for camping and outdoors activities, as for me I just throw it in my bag and go. Now I am taking more pics of my 3 year old than traveling but even when she take it and drops it I know the camera will be fine. Highly recommended!Read full review
Autofocus is slow and accurate about 80% of the time. However it is very durable and the build quality is quite high. You can fin them for the for the same price as a disposable waterproof camera, so why not get built in flash, close up features, and the ability to use it more than once?

Just what the doctor ordered. a great camera for taking pictures of the kids on that trip to the water park or in the pool at home. It is a simple point and shoot with a moderate wide angle lens, AF is good - Flash is accurate. and they sell for between $30-50 USD. you can't go wrong with that.
I got this for my nephews, both avid outdoorsmen. They are always hunting and fishing and their mom is very reluctant to let them take the "good" digital. I was raised with the 35mm SLR and I'm much happier with the clarity of the pictures. When I saw this camera I knew immediately I could get it for the boys and they could throw it in their backpacks and rough house around and still have a good quality picture of their adventure.
Great camera for beginners and pros. Weather resistant function which makes this camera being great.

This has been one good camera,an its waterproof thats what is nice but its not underwaterproof so you dont want to go under water with it. But it takes great picters an it fits your hand real good.I would reckamend tis to anyone that likes the outdoors an dont have to worry about the weather eighter.
