Adorable, and soo Japanese, it hurts. Their mouths don't even match the words! Overly complex story line, presented in the most hilarious, Comic Sans font manner ever, as short television programs, complete with some beautiful anime and ridiculous characters, from the "tough" girl in Daisy Duke shorts to the big boobed blonde in armor too adorable to exist, who's in love with this skinny little dork. We have a drunk bounty hunter, some guy that looks like a robot in his armor, but has the most ridiculous HERO! catchphrases. There's a little girl that's over ten thousand years old, and is quite a smart-ass. We have Ihadurca herself, this insanely sexy witch, who screams stuff like GO TO HELL, and VAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?! while you fight her. This game is brilliant. It's completely wonderful, totally has a bargain bin vibe, but enjoys it. The audio is terrible on the voices, mixed TOO LOUD, yet the music is ROCKING. Outstanding soundtrack. The comments are hilarious, the action is brilliant, and at times, the graphics are completely beautiful and HUGE. There's only two buttons being used! Simple, BUT... that's where YOU come in. Fights can be long and truly challenging, but you'll be laughing and forgetting everything else in the world, but the Evil Zone, and getting Ihadurca back in there. It's NOT Tekken 3. It's BETTER. I always enjoyed playing this game when I was younger, unfortunately I didn't take care of my disks or cases, or manuals... flash forward to 2021 and I'm rebuilding my collection of ps1 titles. This title is heavily inspired by anime art styles from the 90s and that helps to add to the appeal. The characters levels each feel unique and eye catching while in the heat of battle. Once you complete the characters story mode you unlock the third alternative costume, after three characters are completed this way, you unlock the boss character herself Ihadulka! If you complete enough matches you unlock that characters voice collection and can change the GetSet! GO! voices as well as the KnockDown! voice. Once you complete all character's voice collections a congratulations is unlocked in the extras menu, this I'm guessing was for the player to choose their favorite character to appear in a sequel but it was never started. This game is easy to pickup as its not as complex as other fighters, you use triangle to attack and square is soley for defense. The directional buttons on the d pad provide ways of altering attacks. Advanced attacks can be executed by holding triangle to charge energy. Where is the energy bar you ask? That would be your health bar, so If your low on health stun your enemy and try to execute some advanced attacks such as (assuming your on the left side of screen) ← ← Triangle this being your characters ultimate attack that will require a charge gem (little red square icon near characters name). Another tip is instead of using square to defend against a capture attack, try to stun your opponent or otherwise make them guard against an oncomming attack, this should stop the capture move and give you an advantage. Definately check this title out!Read full review

This is an all around amazing game, is it perfect, no of course not there are some lip sync issues, but then again of people that talked in a play station game none of them had perfect lip sync or even moved their mouth at all so that is nothing that takes away from the game. The characters are great especially Kakuriene and Ihadurca. The music is fantastic the movies look great for a game over 10 years old. The only down side to this game is that there is no anime to follow up or piece together all the different story arcs.
Evil Zone was one of my first playstation games and though it's outdated now, back in the day it was lots of fun. I would recommend this game to nostalgic people like myself looking to take a walk down memory lane but after replaying the game I realized that it wasn't the most awesome game I had remembered it to be. The dubbing of the characters is laughable - the voice actors are good but they made no attempt to match the words with the mouth movements or even the scenes. The game can be played 1 or 2 player and has a story mode (which is the best part of the game).
Classic fighting game and a wonderful little hidden gem on the PS1!

Even though this game is more than 10 years old now it still is one of my favorite ighting games of all time. Controls are easy for beginners to learn and the storyline is great. An old school PlayStation 1 game. Definitely worth a buy.
