Asus A7V8X-X Mother Boards
Personally I love Asus motherboards, in the main they are good value, reliable, feature packed and easy to setup.There are some pro's and con's to buying online (like the onboard audio refusing to work) but in the main they are offset by the price you pay for the item. Apart from the above mentioned issue mine came with all the user manuals and disc in order to set it up correctly. This motherboard was one to replace the one in my kids PC which had unfortunately decided to self destruct due to a power supply problem. Considering the price I paid as it has now upgraded my kids PC considerably with the addition of more USB's, onboard LAN, quicker FSB and more up to date memory modules (DDR RAM as opposed to SDRAM). This sort of upgrade would be cost prohibitive for most people. Asus ... Personally I love Asus motherboards, in the main they are good value, reliable, feature packed and easy to setup.There are some pro's and con's to buying online (like the onboard audio refusing to work) but in the main they are offset by the price you pay for the item. Asus motherboards offer some good additional features like the ability to do a bios update using the Asus EZ Flash system which allows you update the bios before entering the operating system, so no more DOS based updating. Another feature which is quite a good idea is crash free bios, this allows you to restore the bios from a floppy diskette even when the bios is corrupted by an upgrade or virus. This is of benefit because it means not having to pay for a ROM to restore the bios. CPR is an option that enables you to overclock the system and not have to clear the bios from inside the case in the event of a system freeze/hang. All you do is restart the system and it restores the default parameters. With support for DDR400 PC3200, AGP 8x, Automatic CPU overheat protection for AMD processors this board has loads of headroom for upgrades including AMD 2800+ and above CPU's. All in all I think it's an excellent motherboard for those wishing to upgrade without buying a new system.

The ASUS A7V8X
The motherboard is excelent but it had one minor draw back, this version does not have SATA as advertised on the ASUS website, the motherboard is one of the best I have ever owned (this is the 2nd, the 1st had SATA on board), I would have given this product the full 5 star treatment but alas it lacked SATA and it was SATA I needed. this motherboard is very very very reliable and fast and one of the last socket 476 made by ASUS.The motherboard is excelent but it had one minor draw back, this version does not have SATA as advertised on the ASUS website, the motherboard is one of the best I have ever owned (this is the 2nd, the 1st had SATA on board), I would have given this product the full 5 star treatment but alas it lacked SATA and it was SATA I needed. this motherboard is very very very reliable and fast and one of the last socket 476 made by ASUS.
