    'THE EVIL OF THE DALEKS' BLU-RAY

    BROADCAST IN 1967 - AND REPEATED IN 1968 - ON BBC-1, 'THE EVIL OF THE DALEKS' STARTS OFF WELL, FOLLOWING 'THE FACELESS ONES', SAGS A LITTLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY, AND PICKS UP TOWARDS THE THE FINAL END. ANIMATION IS FINE, THE DALEKS ATTEMPT TO GRASP HUMANITY WITHOUT THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY ARE ALMOST ALREADY NEAR-HUMAN, AND THE SURVIVING EPISODE TWO - FOUND AT A SUMMER 1983 ENGLISH CAR-BOOT SALE - IS POSSIBLY THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS SEVEN-PART STORY. THE OLD HOUSE FEATURED IN THE STORY HAD ONCE BELONGED TO GILBERT, OF GILBERT AND SULLIVAN. 'THE EVIL OF THE DALEKS' WAS THE LAST DALEK STORY OF THE 1960s, UNTIL 1971 WHEN THE DAY OF THESE SKARO MONSTERS WOULD RETURN... COLLIN SMITH, ENGLAND.
