    Put that Surface Connect port to good use!

    Having purchased a refurbished Surface Book 2 about a year ago, I soon realised that it was short of ports, indeed with just the one USB-C port. The USB-A ports that it does have, do not supply much in the way of power, so devices take an age to charge. What it does have is a Surface Connect port, which I could only use to connect the power supply unit that came with it. I decided a while back that I could connect a Microsoft Surface Dock to Surface Connect port, to give me a usable number of extra ports, but unfortunately, no USB-C ports, which are essential these days. The later Surface Dock 2 looked a better option since it provided 4 USB-C ports, two of which were capable of supporting an external monitor, with the right cabling. The supplied PSU also provided a healthy 199 W of which ...
