One of the best from the era
The 224E was one of the mid-priced diecast electric train offerings from Lionel from the late 1930's until 1941. When paired with a die-cast 2224W whistling tender, it gave a heavy, powerful platform capable of pulling several passenger or freight cars. It had an electric reversing unit that allowed the operator to move the train forward and backwards from the controller.
