Lightweight with great features, Can dents very easy
I really like the way the lid works, NO MORE TOUCHING THE LID SO THIS HELPS KEEP DOWN A LOT OF GERMS. My kids are now throwing their trash away without having to be told to do so. Need to be careful of the can itself, as it is easy to dent. Just not quite right
We ordered this automatic trash bin because our previous one had "died" from corroded wiring, perhaps due to liquid entering the wiring compartment. Upon its arrival my wife remarked, "It's so short!" and indeed it is 2" shorter than our previous bin. This isn't as disturbing as the fact that the three parts: bin, bag holder and automatic lid top do not fit precisely. The three pieces are slightly proportioned differently, so they do not align. If the parts are "forced together" the trash bin is functional. Since we had saved our previous bin and nothing fitted tightly, we assembled the new automatic lid top with our old bin. This automatic lid top is better designed than our previous "corroded" one with placing the on/off switch on the outside, single battery compartment and interior surface better sealed (presumably will prevent liquid flow into the wiring). We purchased this automatic trash bin because its price is $15 less than previously and the cost is a less perfect trash bin that still functions. Incidentally this automatic lid top also has a port for a power cord connection, which would eliminate the need for 4 D batteries, but at our cost the cord was not included.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Stainless Steel Trash Can.
The first thing I liked about this item is that it is an Infrared and not a motion sensor operated lid. We have noticed that with the motion sensor operated type it would open at the slightest movement ; such as a housefly or just walking by it. Got to be a pain ; scared the grand kids and one didn't have to be in the room for the lid to open, (housefly).This one has a nice wide opening to allow a dinner plate to be scrapped into it with out getting stuff on the sides or the floor. It is compact and sits back a few inches against the wall and not taking up floor space. The lid is a bit louder closing, but it closes tight. For the money it is a good product. Good but quality of product is just okay
I like the way the can looks. Very pleasing to the eye especially with stainless steel appliances. Also the convenience of the lid opening with just an object hovering over the lid is great. You don't realize how much you would need something like that till you have the amenity itself. Only thing I don't like is that the can will only work off batteries. I tried using an AC adaptor and it did not work. I tried using several in fact and still nothing. And one of them is the exact same one the Instructions recommended. Now I have to buy batteries all of the time. As we all know batteries aren't cheap. I just hope they last a long time. In the end I would recommend this to someone. Looks good, works well, lightweight
Perfect size, attractive appearance, lightweight. Move hand across top and the lid opens quickly, closes automatically, but can be locked open for long use. Mechanicals work well however, top will open sometimes when simply walking by the can. Ring that holds bag in place does not fit well, is actually too small and rim is too shallow to fit securely over rim of can. Poorly designed or executed, ring almost useless but will kind of hold bag in place. Overall good and good value compared to full retail. Works as described just don't set it up too close to where people walk
Almost perfect... Almost. Theirs a ring that the trash bag is supposed to fit around it. Except that the "Ring" doesn't quite fit the top of the can. So at times it falls in. Motion detector that opens the lid works fine but mine needed in a place that everyone walking through the kitch pass by it so its opening when not needed. It does, and this can be good or can be bad, allows the trash to fill it quite well... Better than any that I've had before but it's filled to the point that it may be hard to pull out when you need to dump it (and don't lose the ill fitting black ring when you do.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

TOUCHLESS STEEL TRASH CAN needs improvement
this is not the latest model: the plastic garbage liner shows all around the top under the black piece that holds it in place. I think the latest version allows for it to be tucked inside so it does't show and look sloppy. the lid slants so that if you walk past it too closely, the lid opens and closes . If you turn it around to face the wall, the slant of the lid hit s the wall surface and opens constantly. this feature needs to have the sensor pointed straight up so niether of these scenarios take place to wear out the batteries. otherwise it's very nice.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very good quality, lid is a little sensitive
The Stainless Steel trash can is a good design and is well built. It is not impervious, but the can has three pieces. The body, a plastic retaining ring for the bag and the top. The top has to be worked on a bit against the trash can body. This makes for a good seal. The top has the electronics which can us either 4 D-cell batteries or an A/C adapter. The adapter is not included. I have a universal A/C adapter that will work on it. Overall, very good product and I do recommend it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Touch free garbage can
Plastic rim that holds bag in place was warped and had to be replaced. Can is smaller than I expected and shorter but still holds a 13 gallon bag. Works well however if u walk past it quickly it opens unexpectedly. Stays open about 5-6 seconds then closes by itself. Can open and close manually by pressing buttons. If u have young children or grandchildren (in my case) they will think it's a toy and play open and close "sesame"...overall can is well made and works well. A Trash Can That's Fun for the Family
The trash can with the automatic lid works well and has become an interesting addition to the kitchen. Kids love waiving their hands and watching the lid open (maybe even a little too much, but now there's a "battle" to see who gets to dump the trash!).
