    i really only wanted "goes to rome" because of carol sydes aka cindy carol.i had a crush on her ever since seeing her on multiple episodes of "leave it to beaver". also, it featured trudy ames,aka "trudy ziskin" from "dobie gillis" and noreen corcoran from "batchelor father". it played fine. the rest is just a "bonus".thanks!!!

    Fun movies, bad transfers

    The three Gidget movies are a welcome change from today's moviegoing fare. It's all good light hearted fun filled with great locations. Each of the three actresses portraying Gidget have their own qualities. It's a shame that the mastering to DVD was so poorly done. Characters in dialogue have half their heads cut off due to the formatting from Panavision to whatever they used. Beautiful second unit photography is cut and poorly cropped for the same reason. But, it still has charm that can't be beat. If you've been to any of the locations (Malibu, Hawaii, or Rome) you'll recognize the usual classic locations, but from 50 years ago. I chose to ignore the issues and just have fun!

    after this movie hit the big screen the united states went from selling boards to just a few kids in california to a whopping 50 000 that same year. it is a bit campy but you need to remember it was the earley 60s

    My favorite movies when I was growing up.
