Dante's Inferno for Sony PlayStation 3 is an action game that is based on Dante Aligheri's vision of Hell, with a number of elements from the literary masterpiece. However, in this action video game, the Renaissance-era Dante is a soldier who used to go on crusades and now has to hack and slash enemies. Because of the violence, nudity and blood and gore found in this game, Dante's Inferno for PS3 has been rated M and should be played by mature audiences only. In Dante's Inferno, players wield a giant scythe as they move from area to area defeating enemies. There are also a number of cultural allegories in this action video game. Even though the focus of the game is action, the overall goal of Dante's Inferno for PS3 is to save the woman Dante loves. The quality of the movie cut scenes and animated exchanges provide some depth in Dante's Inferno. There are enough power-ups and other items to help make Dante's Inferno for PS3 an interesting game for even the most experienced gamers.
