    Best printer for home office

    Good points 31 ppm speed for casual printing (although I’m use to 70 ppm). Auto double sided and doesn’t make too much noise like ink jet. I use compatible toners (£40 black and all colour) and Quality is very good. It’s not a photo ink jet printer, but definitely can print impressive colour Bad points It’s does have touch screen so it can take some time to join to WiFi or insert IP for LAN. Once done, you can configure the details using PC. Size wise is a little big, but the smaller one doesn’t give me the speed I need. 18 ppm is torturing when you are use to 70ppm, so the size I justified.

    Unpresentable print quality. Good for personal use and internal dossiers only.

    Pros: • Fairly quiet operation comparable to good quality duplex inkjets. • Excellent paper handling. The prints come out very well aligned with the paper edges. That is, unfortunately, all the good I have to say about Brother HL-L8260CDW Colour Laser Printer. Cons: • Very low, cheap magazine-like dpi makes it absolutely unsuitable for printing pictures of any sort even at Fine setting. • Inconsistent print quality, whereby straight lines (e.g. tables) in the same document come out jagged sometimes more, sometimes less. Just turn the printer off and on and the quality is vastly different. Calibration sometimes makes colored parts even worse, and never perfect. See the picture. • Colour rendition is a joke with this printer, not to mention the transition between bright and dark areas ...

    Brilliant piece of kit.

    I bought this printer to use when setting up my new business for printing labels and price lists etc. The print quality is excellent and setting it up following the guide provided was simple. I can now easily send documents to print via my home WiFi from anywhere in the house without a problem.
