    Should have bought new chargers for the same price.

    I It was manufactured in the 70's or 80's. It gets pretty hot while charging batteries. It isn't really a smart charger, in that it doesn't turn into low charge mode when a battery is fully charged. The indicator is not LED, just a red light. I have attempted to charge AA and AAA batteries and the red lights just remain red. I have charged over 24 hours and the red lights just stay a constant red. I have not tested the batteries for a charge yet, but I am not confident that they are charged.
