Firstly, you have to be mindful of the amount of money you are paying compared to what you are getting. I believe for the money you are getting great value and a very good basic laser cutter. This laser cutter (albeit the one that I got) was generally well made with only a few panels misaligned or slightly dented although this does not impact on the working properties of the actual machine! The wiring, installation of electrical and mechanical parts is very, very good - everything is very sturdily connected and there were no mechanical or electrical defects with the machine - it worked straight away. There was only one questionable electrical issue regarding the LED lighting inside the laser cutter; the emergency stop switch doesn't seem to switch this off when pressed? it only seems to switch off the laser power, pump and air assist. Software and Laser controller - check the listing, I was expecting RDWorks software but this laser cutter comes with LaserCAD. Laser Tube - is advertised as 60w but the tube is 100cm long which has all the hallmarks of a 50w tube, 60w being max output but running it at max output would burn out your tube very quickly! I tend to run this tube at no more than 70% power for fear of killing the life of the tube. As a result, it cuts 3mm acrylic at 5-6mm/s with 60% power, 3mm laser ply/mdf at 9mm/s with 60% power.. it engraves very fast, 4-600mm/s at 20-40% power efficiently on many materials. I haven't cut anything thicker but I have no desire to do so. Water Pump - Not great, the plastic fitting to fit the tube to the top of the pump snapped on day 2 and wouldn't hold the tube onto the pump, even with cable ties and it kept popping off! I ended up ditching the attachment of the pump and replacing the tube with hosepipe.. works much better. A water chiller would be better as a normal water tank gets warm after an hour of use. Use Distilled or De Ionised water. Extractor fan - didn't use as it was SO loud and was getting rather hot when I was testing it... I rigged the laser cutter to the extraction for the brazing hearth in my workshop and its Far quieter and much more efficient and safer!. Read full review
