This is a big HVAC unit, 1.3 meters tall. The cooling fan on the top is variable speed and moves ALOT of air. The unit can be set to a very low temperature and it will stop the compressor if the evaporator starts to ice up and the water drains into the tub. Its not designed for outdoors installation according to the manual but I plan to put it inside a box to keep it dry although the holes would need to be big enough to allow the air to flow. You can get a plenum to allow the unit to suck air from the room into the unit, this will make it much more efficient because it is circulating the air in your house and not replacing it with outside air. The manuals are available online and spares can still be purchased.
