This was a great purchase at a quarter of the price of Marples but much more than a quarter of the quality. I would reccomend these to DIY,ers and the professional alike as they do the job perfectly and are up to being knocked about a bit also. I will say if you have a set of Marples save them for extra fine joinery and compliment them with a set of these. If you don't have a set of Marples then don't worry as these will do what you ask.

I thought that I would take a chance on these fully expecting to spend a fair bit of time with an oil stone to get these have flat backs and an acceptable cutting edge. The handles are the cheapest plastic or resin with poorly finished details. The chisels themselves are coarsely ground with deep grinding marks. The 1/4" chisel in particular is twisted and out of square. A number of the chisels vary in width along their length meaning that they will provide marginally different widths of cut as they are progressively sharpened over the years. If you only use these occasionally this won't be a problem.

don't expect to use these straight out of the box, as supplied they are only roughly ground. The tang only goes about an 1-1/2" into the plastic handle so will not last long if using hard mallet blows.

This seems to be a good quality item but haven’t used it yet as no sharpener or pencils have arrived yet

Perfect except that one chisel was badly dubbed over on the face of the chisel which meant it had to be ground back quite a bit to get a flat face for sharpening, but all in all a good set of chisels.
