I bought just one of these so I could listen to my mixes in true mono. It doesn't sound pretty because it so accurately reproduces your audio without sweetening it or adding stuff that's not really there. You need to break it in for a while (a long while!) to get it to peak efficiency but when you do, man does it reveal the truth in your mix! Seriously, if you want to make sure that your mixes sound good not just on high quality speakers, but also on the radio, in a shopping mall, on earbuds, in the car, on a boombox and in an elevator, then you really must invest in one (or two) of these. Like I said, I only bought one because I want to monitor in mono to check for phase issues etc and to make sure everything can be heard properly when played on bass challenged devices. I use a Mackie Big Knob to easily switch between my main monitors and the MixCube. Not cheap, but highly recommended to help take your mixes up a few notches.Read full review
