Oxford Diecast has sadly now discontinued 76MA006 in 1/76 Scale which represented a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance in East Midlands Ambulance Service [EMAS] Colours. This saddens me as this model is excellent and will now be pricey when offered for sale. Oxford Diecast produced sister-models 76MA001 in Welsh Ambulance Service colours [now discontinued too] and 76MA002 of the London Ambulance Service [still in production ... for now.] All are OO Scale or Gauge Compatible models and are otherwise aimed at the adult / discerning collector market. This version of the Sprinter ambulance fitted with an 'Ambi-Box' as opposed to being a 'Rigid' design has served the NHS Trust Ambulance Services very venerably but is in the process of being replaced by the more modern Fiat fleet. The Sprinter will be around for some time still though so why the mass-discontinuing of these models by Oxford is hard to gauge an answer to. This however would easily be fittable with working flashing lights as there's adequate space in the Ambi-Box to fit the power-source and wiring that an appropriate conversion kit is likely to include. Some individuals offer conversion options and this feature would serve to further improve this particular Sprinter model as the roof-mounted Light Bars here come painted silver with no additional detailing as seen on the others. The markings otherwise are accurate and relatively current with ambulance 'Battenburgs' of green and yellow in the UK carried along with UK Assistance Vehicle chevrons adorning the full extent of the rear. This is a BEAUT but sadly being the first of the models of this ilk Oxford Diecast discontinued back in August 2019 this will not be offered up often for sale and when it appears it is likely to come at a price. But TEN / Full Marks should serve as enough encouragement from me to make that investment :o)Read full review

Oxford Diecast have released 76MA002 in 1/76 Scale which represents a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance of the NHS London Ambulance Service. This model is OO Gauge Compatible and intended for the adult and discerning collector or OO Gauge railway modeller. Sadly it is not suitable for playing with as a toy because of it's size and delicate detachable parts which would not withstand being played with by young children. This design of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance is the 'Ambi-Box' or 'Saddleback' design which is used in the UK by many NHS Ambulance Services. It's counterpart is the 'Rigid' which is widely used throughout Europe in the same function. The livery is current and accurately reproduced by Oxford Diecast and so this would look good on a OO Gauge railway layout but equally as great in a collection on display too. Though Fiat Doblos have been in use too as NHS Emergency Ambulances too since 2012 there are many more miles left in the Sprinter fleet yet and it is possible to fit these models with working lights upon purchase of a conversion kit: By Default they come with full detailing but not with working lights. A valuable asset and talking point for everyone - it's a 10 from me FULL MARKS :o)Read full review
