About this product

Product Information

It's the 1980's and David has just started secondary school. He's becoming a teenager, but still hanging onto the rituals of childhood, particularly his addiction to Doctor Who, sharing the books with his best friend and neighbour, Robert, and watching the TV show. But time moves relentlessly on, and Robert starts rejecting the Doctor in favour of girls, free weights and new music. Against a backdrop of Bowie, Breville toasters and trips to Blackpool, David acknowledges his own abilities and finds his place in the world.

Great professional communication. There was a problem with the item description, that the seller tried to resolve in time and very kindly correct the error and we reached without any hassle an agreement to satisfy both parties. A small point of improvment would be a more protective packaging for such a rare item which is also unsealed, but no problems arose from this. All-around satisfied and would do business again! Many thanks!

  • Compelling entertaining funny and moving highly recommended!

An addictive read. Atmospheric funny nostalgic and moving. A wonderful book by Mr Margs and if you are of a certain age and remember Target paperbacks and visiting the Doctor Who exibition in Blackpool in the seventies a very special read indeed. I wonder if the main character David is really Paul Margs? I will never know! A book to return to again and again from the creator of the incredible Iris Wildthyme.
