Bought this for a second baby in a large-ish house with solid walls. The older model is far superior, and suffers none of these niggles. All-in-all, it does the job - but with niggles. When it does work, it’s a constant connection, picks up the slightest of noises, and is good quality audio. 1. This version doesn’t have a stand, so is clumsier to charge - and it gets plugged in once or twice a day, so is relevant. 2. The transmitter turns itself off every now and again, meaning a sneak back to babies room to turn it back on. 3. Sometimes the receiver makes a noise which could be straight from a horror film!! Scared the life out of us the first few times! Like a squeeley, thundery sound mixed with static!! 3 times in a year. 4. Every button press makes the receiver beep, so no subtle volume changes etc. More relavent in early days when one of us is sleeping for example. 5. There is a real annoying lag between pressing a button and something happening - meaning we sometimes press buttons twice in error.Read full review

I like how this monitor keeps an open channel, (it is slightly annoying but I'm sure il get used to it like I did with the beeping from the tommee tippee sensor mat, but unlike other monitors iv had in the past (and tommee tippee presently) there is a few seconds delay before the monitor is triggered and can often hear my daughter in another room for several seconds/minutes before the monitor let's me know) but I shouldn't miss a thing with this monitor

We've had this model of BT monitor since our daughter was born 33 months ago... apart from occasionally needing to be restarted in the first few months it settled down to be very reliable. However, recently it started occasionally cutting out without audible or visible warning, with flat batteries, and one of the leads on the charger for the parent unit failed due to being moved around too much. So I mended that wire and swapped over the two chargers - the baby one is rarely moved. We thought we ought to have a spare and bought this used one, which is great. However, putting new rechargeables in the baby unit of our original has returned it to perfect working order so the second one is not currently needed. However, the new BT equivalents either don't have two way communication - very useful as the baby turns into an articulate toddler - or have lots of unnecessary flashing lights and music we don't want. So the Baby Monitor 300 - sadly discontinued - is for us the ideal one. Long may our two last! No wonder it was a Which? best buy...Read full review
