The only film outing for this classic hero of 98 novels written over 79 years
A cult classic featuring Biggles, the fictional WW1 fighter ace brought to life by author W.E. Johns in his 98 novels featuring the character. It's a little odd, as it's technically sci-fi due to time travel elements which are absolutely not in the original stories. I guess historical films, especially set during WW1, simply weren't doing well at the box office in the 1980s, and the producers decided to add a little Star Wars sci-fi spin to the action, which would have alienated fans of the books.
