I bought this phone because I was starting to have problems with my old N95. I chose this particular phone because it was the only one on the market with a camera good enough to match the one on the N95. I think it's a good phone with lots of features but there are lot of things that I'm disappointed with. I love getting both my personal and business emails straight to the phone. The camera, music player and qwerty keyboard are excellent but I must admit I expected the internet browser to be better than it is. I'm also disappointed that it doesn't have a FM radio and automatic key lock. It comes with built-in software and tutorials which are also excellent. Be aware that, due to not having a automatic key lock, the phone is constantly changing your settings, alarms,etc and also makes accidental calls. There is a key lock but you have to remember to turn it on and even the it unlocks itself if the phone opens up in your pocket.Read full review
I have had many models of Blackberry but the Torch is top of the league! It is as they say “fully loaded” Semi touch, the sure touch is precise and accurate making it in my opinion the most simple to use in all applications, fantastic web browsing with pinch & zoom . Multiple open and tabbed websites. Keyboard as the Bold, easy to use. The 5MP camera is great too, fantastic quality day or night. Has all the social feeds integrated to the phone such as Facebook so you have a constant link to them. Battery life is Ok but not quite the 5 hours talk time as stated In general, the software is great in all aspects. Overall, i’d recommend this phone to anyone. Blackberry will find it hard to come up with something better!
I had wanted a BlackBerry with the choice of touch screen and full qwerty key pad and this had the best of both worlds. Comes with all the usual BlackBerry app features and gives the chance to be able to keep up with all your emails on the go, and in this face paced world is a god send and plus there are loads of useful apps to download to make life even easier. The phone is so easy to use and not to big like some of the smart phones on the market these days, i have not found any problems with it and would recomend one to anyone that wants to upgrade to a smart phone but dose not want to pay through the nose for it. The best thing i like about the Torch 9800 is you have the choice to use the on screen keyboard or the slide up one and they are both easy to navigate and use. The camera is excelent as is the video function and with the mobile internet you are able to upload straight to whatever social network site you are with. The call features are just as impresive as you have the choice to hold a conference call, and the display is so easy to see and use for incoming and out going calls. I have friends with the latest i phone but find that the BlackBerry is just as good and has or can get all the same apps and have also found that i can get coverage where they cant and can connect to the mobile internet when they cant. All in all this is an excellent phone and can stand up against any of the other smart phones on the market today. I would without a doubt get another BlackBerry when the time comes.Read full review
The look and the feeling of this phone on your hand is magnificent, I just love it. However there are two concerns: 1. When the slide is closed, the headset is not very solid, it moves when you touch, like to separate pieces not linked good together. 2. This is the most important, it is impossible to use APP WORLD in Albania, neither can I download apps for my phone via PC, because in Albania it is merely impossible. This is completely unfair, because I can not get even the free application. This is something Blackberry mus fix as soon as possible, because I buy this expensive device, and I can not practically use it. Otherwise this phone is great
I love this phone and never used to like blackberry. I have all social sites and all work and personal emails set up on the phone which is great. picture quality is really good also
