Scary Cover
I've always liked this album. It's always struck me as a jam session rather than a cohesive collection of songs on an album. With that being said, I think it's a wonderful collection of individual musicians (Winwood, Clapton, Baker, & Grech) as well as music. There are 6 songs. I like them all; however, a few of them end up just sort of running on ... and on, for example, "Had to Cry Today" & "Do What You Like". Of course, "Can't find My Way Home" with the acoustic sound and WinWood's vocals, for me, has always had a kind of dreamy trippy feel. I think my least favorite song is "Sea of Joy". I don't care for the vocals on this song; a bit painful for my ears; however, I think it's interesting the way in which the violin is incorporated into this song. At any rate, just a few thoughts.

One for the collection
Not the greatest performances ever by either Clapton or Winwood. As they both admitted, they probably made this album a little bit early in their life as a band but still, three really good songs and some other stuff too. OK, so Clapton lost the plot towards the end of 'In The Presence of The Lord' but it's a stand out track up until that point and my goodness, how young they were in 1969, especially Steve Winwood at 21. Clapton was positively ancient at 24 but then he had more or less been in The Beatles prior to this. Definitely one for the collection.
