Excellent for the price
I haven't had a portable battery shaver for years but finally decided to buy this one as a back up, the charger on my main shaver having ceased working just when I really needed a shave. It does a very fair job for the price - much cheaper than most other foil shavers and I have a tough beard. Some other reviewer has said that it uses loads of batteries and that would be true if you used it every day with standard batteries. However, it does seem to have entered his head that the sensible approach is to use rechargeable batteries which are commonplace these days. In fact I use rechargeables for several applications and thus bought myself a quality battery charger several years ago.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheapest best AA 1,5v battery powered razor on the market
After 14 years the last one died. Use rechargeables but lithium AA 1,5v would be the way to go when travelling. Small but sturdy and efficient
I use mine every day for beard and bald head! Using rechargeable batteries, these can go for a month on one set before recharging. This is my third one, the original one is an earlier model you can't get spare parts for, the second one after 10 years use is now in my second home. Reliable, long lasting, good close shaver
Been using this model of Braun shaver for 15 years. Average life span is 8 years (with 1 foil change). Much better than rotary blade shavers. Far less likely to catch and pull a hair. Good Value, Great Little Shaver
Although "you get what you pay for", I've had much more expensive electric shavers in the past and the Braun M-90 shaves just as good, so is good value for money. You have to experiment with shaving technique...I find a light pressure works better than heavy scrubbing, and accept it will never give as good a shave as a wet razor. Also amount of growth affects the quality of shave. Around a day to day and a half seems to be optimum...for me. The trimmer feature is a bonus. I've only had it for a few days so battery life is still unknown. I like the size and lack of wires etc...and the protective shield, and clean up with water. Much better than expected...
I'm often abroad, and always pack two electric shavers - one as a spare. Deciding to replace the old, heavy, spare, I bought an M90. Astonishingly, it shaves almost as well as my full size Braun shaver... at about one tenth the price. I've always used electric shavers on my dark facial hair, so I prepare by rubbing vigorously with a dry towel, and then applying Boots' pre-shave [very cheap !]. I shave daily, so it's possible the M90 wouldn't cope as easily with two or three days growth.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
