The autofocus mechanism on my original EF-S 18-55 lens dating from 2008 packed up recently whilst on a short break. The cost a repair (around £70) was prohibitive given the age of the lens. This replacement from MH Cameras is excellent value (£126) , quiet, faster focussing and sharper than the my original lens. So I'm happy

Cannot describe any lens as durable, it's not a woodworking tool or a work surface. It's a precision instrument that works in harmony with a Canon M series cameras perfectly. Loads available used in near new condition at very reasonable prices. Plenty of new grey imports at almost half UK full price. Love the M series for quick unfussy shooting. With this lens it just about fits into a large pocket. Get an M100 for point and shoot. Get M6 for more control. Better still, M6 mk2 top of the range, my next camera. M lenses are hard to beat. Don't bother with other lenses and adapters, far too bulky, but OK if that's all you got

It is not much larger than the 14-55 kit lens supplied with my Canon EOS M50, provides a more useful zoom range, is of the same high build quality and has already produced some very impressive results across the whole zoom range.

This is the early M series kit lens which was later replaced by the 15-45mm however, it is fairly rugged and produces very good images, as I have several M series bodies, it gives me a choices when out on a shoot.
