The really cool thing about purchasing the camera bundle is that the tripod that came with the camera had a broken support bracket. I emailed Ted's Electronics customer service with photos of my purchase, and they sent me a replacement tripod with no cost to me!! Excellent and prompt service. A good camera, but takes some study to learn to use all the features
Appears to be a really good camera. Takes a while to learn all the features. I had a Cannon camera before this one but they are a good deal different in some operations. I prefer the electric zoom rather than the manual zoom. The buttons are well placed for making adjustments when shooting. Once the system is learned it appears to make sense. I prefer AA batteries over a rechargeable battery. If AA batteries run down, and then I run down a spare, one can still put in new batteries if there's a store nearby. With the supplied battery one has to have an extra and carry the charger around. The built-in flash takes some getting use to using, and an external flash, which I also bought, takes some study to use correctly. Appears to be a really good camera. The 326 page downloaded manual has plenty of information about how the camera works. However, none of the reviews mentioned that the hot shoe does NOT have the center conductor. That makes this model incompatible with any other flash units or triggers. If you plan on only using the built-in flash, then you'll be fine. I was hoping to use this camera in a studio environment using other flashes and triggers. All the work-arounds are pricey. Compact and easy to use
For years I used a "Point and Shoot" Digital Camera. As it got older (well over a decade), the images from it were becoming less and less sharp. Now with the Canon. I get the ability to determine if I need to use a different lens, shutter speed and/or aperture? .... And for that I have not been happier.... I know that I am learning to use my DSLR and in time my images will become more "refined".... But, photography is fun again....For years I used a "Point and Shoot" Digital Camera. Cheaper than local Walmart with more items!
This kit is a different part number than the American branded Rebel but it is exactly the same. You can watch lots of helpful YouTube shows to get better guidance than the skimpy owner’s manual gives. The telephoto lens seems useless, does not make distant objects look any closer but maybe I need to mess with it more. I am disappointed that the camera doesn’t pick up the pink sunset colors, will have to learn to adjust it more. A good intro level DSLR camera.This kit is a different part number than the American branded Rebel but it is exactly the same.
