I bought this to repair an existing camera of the same make and model which had a faulty lens. This seems to be a common problem, ours got sand in the mechanism on the beach! Tip - get a camera pouch of some sort. It's a great camera. I particularly like the 3in screen which makes it easy for even my 3 year old to take half decent pics. Focus is good, battery life is good, SD cards are cheap although I suggest a minimum class 4 for speed. The maco mode is also pretty decent and the menu user interface is easy. You can't compare it to a 'proper' digial SLR for things like frame rate, aperture control and shutter speed and sometimes the low light performance is not so good. For what it is I would recommend one just to keep in your bag or car. Parts are easy enough to get hold of now if it does go wrong.Read full review

I bought my first Canon Ixus 75 in 2007 but in Dec 2012 I accidentally dropped it and whilst looking OK it ceased to function :( I was suffuciently happy with my camera that I decided to replace it with a second hand one from ebay rather than buy a new one. I am no expert - just a point and shoot merchant and this camera does all I need!
An oldie but you can pick it up cheap and it does all you need, same quality images as latest models so why pay through the nose?
it is a very very good buy
