I had my previous Canon printer for about 7 years and it was excellent. Unfortunately it broke recently so I had to buy a new printer and it definitely had to be a Canon. I unpacked it and downloaded the software only to find I had to buy a new high speed USB. This done I discovered that my computer does not support the appropriate drivers. To cut a long story short, I now need to buy a new computer- but this one is about 10 years old, bought when XP first came out. The scanner part works on it's own and the quality is very good. Much better than my old scanner. This printer has only two cartridges, an improvement on my old one which had five.
Bought this to replace my old IP4200 as the ink had finished. It was cheaper to buy this whole printer which came bundled like new, full ink tanks etc, than it was to buy the inks for the IP4200! Scan and copy are additional features I didn't have on the old one, although wish I had bought the wi-fi version now to hide it away. So far so good with it, print quality and scanning is fast and good, well worth the £11.99 + p&p I paid for it!
Replacement for one that I had for years and worked to death. Efficient, easy to use, excellent value.

I bought the printer for a second PC, have set it up and it is working really well. It copies and prints really well and, although I have not scanned anything yet I am sure that will present no problems. The ink cartridges are easy to replace and the thing I like about the printer is it is so simple to use. I have looked up on the internet and found the ink cartridges are quite expective but as the printer is effectively a back up that is not an issue. I would certainly recommend friends and relations purchasing a similar canon printer.
we are delighted with this product - it is a replacement for our Canon MP170 which had been a brilliant printer but had basically broken therefore needed replacing. Having been so pleased with the previous printer we just went for the nearest we could and the upgrade is excellent, very easy to install and have had great fun using the scanner to archive very old family photo's which caused great hilarity in the family - should it ever need to be replaced it would be with another Canon probably with the next upgrade but still another Canon.
