Although this early digital camera has been superseded many times over by many other digital cameras, not to mention phones etc, I still think its great for everyday photography. It also links up very well with my equally ancient computer, and printer, so I find downloading is easy. And furthermore, it works well with my pogo printer. I've had at least half a dozen of this model (usually it is a mechanical problem to do with opening and closing the battery compartment that packs up) and will continue to hope to get ones in future.

I have used this camera for quite a few years and it is superb. Very compact but with a whole range of easy to use functions. I found that, when taking pictures outdoors, having the white balance set to daylight (rather than auto) improves to colour rendition. A useful zoom and the option to manually focus, enabling close up photos (eg of flowers) with a blurred background. Nearly everything you would expect from a SLR but compact enough to carry in a jacket pocket. Plus it uses AA batteries - I use 2900ma rechargeables and a pair often lasts for a whole week of holiday photos. What's not to like?

I bought a Fujifilm X-T10 six months ago, and it's already been back for repair twice - even the chrome plating is starting to wear off in places. Just to put that into perspective, I've owned a Canon A710 IS for eight years - it still works fine and it's been used and put through a lot - and I really do mean A HELL OF A LOT! Don't let the light plastic case fool you - this camera was built to last. As long as you take reasonably good care of it, it should serve you very well. Even to this day, I'm still amazed at the picture quality this little bit of magic produces - unless the images are expanded 100%, I honestly can't tell the difference under favourable conditions between this and my XT-10. Serously; it's capable of some really nice images when used correctly. It's never failed me. If I didn't get into my side hobby of collecting and photographing with rare vintage lenses, or if I didn't need the unbeatable low-light performance a larger sensor offers, this is the only camera I would ever want and need. So much so, I bought another one second hand on eBay ready for when my trusty old friend finally gives up the ghost. It's already outlived my late father, who owned it for two years before me, and I wouldn't be surprised if it outlives me as well.Read full review

I bought this camera because I needed a compact for times when I can't have my Nikon DSLR with me. The problem with up-to-date compacts is they don't have viewfinders. This camera is about 7 years old, a little bigger than the latest compacts. but still convenient to carry AND IT DOES HAVE A VIEWFINDER. With 7.1 megapixels pictures are excellent in daylight, but not so good at night.
Very easy to use and lightweight but with a pretty good optical viewfinder as well. Image quality is good.
