Great flash for Canon users. Extremely (near instant) and silent recycle, even after strong burst usage. The flash is very well made with a simple but intuitive interface although most of it is handled in-camera. I bought this as a second flash to use in slave mode as a fill flash along with my existing 580EX which it does very well. If you are using it on its own the bounce capability is great with full swivel range but the omission of a small catch-light reflector knocks it down one star. I think that for the retail price a small (but very useful) small sliding piece of white plastic wouldn't be too much to ask. For the price paid on eBay though I really have no grounds to complain over minor details!

Hello all, I bought this speedlite 2nd hand on ebay and It is very reliable and a fast refresh rate on the flash, At £56 in mint condition you can't go wrong, It's no point buying new on something like this, Works very well on my 24-105 canon zoom, Just be aware that there's no slave flash input on this Model for studio work, you will need the 580 or 600ex For that, stick to canon for quality and durability!

This is an awesome flash. I needed to get a new flash and after reading the specs of canon's 4 current speedlites I decided it was down to this one and the 580 EXII. There is a massive price jump between the 430EXII and the 580 EXII, so if you are a pro I would recomend the 580 EXII. However if you are unsure then this is the Speedlie you want, anything less is would be a waste. Pro or novice(like me) this is great value for money. This has everything you need, with out overwhelming you with what the flash can do, if you require a second/slave flash and you have the 580 EXII then this is what you want also. It is compatable with the 500d, 550D, and the 600D. (entry level DSLRs). I would imagine it would be compatable with all of Canon's other DSLRs but you would need to check this out for yourself, I have the 500D and it works perfectly. By compatable I mean, all of the flash opperations can be controled on the flash(as you would expect) and in camera.Read full review
This product is really good, so I have two of them controlled by radio triggers for some useful lighting effects. Take the time to study how they work and you will be rewarded with good results. Power is such that best use is at relatively;y short range, but should not expect to lug around studio levels of power in your backpack. I am very satisfied with this item, it is well made and robust John Starzewski

I bought the Canon Speedlite 430EX 11 on ebay to use with my Canon M5 camera. I bought the M5 mirrorless camera because of it's light weight due to health reasons which meant I couldn't carry my usual canon dslr for hours on end anymore. I wanted a light weight, smallish, speedlite to compliment my M5 and did some research on line. This one although not the newest speedlite around got really good reviews. I'm delighted with it, great output, very quick recycle time...good weight and balances very well with my camera. Have had some great results with it. Very adaptable with the variable head positions..all in all a great Speedlite. Can honestly say that I haven't found any negative points so far on the Canon 430EX 11.
