I have always worn neutral (nude, pale etc) lipstick, but was enticed by the colour of Pirate. It’s well named in a captivating way (more the romantic notion of “Pirate”) than the marauding buccaneers of the sea! Definitely expect a “Red Letter Day” with this shade of red. I always prefer the Rouge Allure range in Chanel as the lipstick glides on smoothly, providing good coverage and moisturising lips (once my makeup is on, I do not like to retouch it - I expect it to last). However, if eating and drinking, it does gradually wear-off, just like other lipsticks albeit some colour remains on the lips. Perhaps lipcoat would help (I’ve never used it). Certainly applying lipliner prior to application helps longevity of the colour. I also love the presentation - a simple click and the lipstick is easily removed from the cover. Discreet and elegant. I do like lipstick and nail varnish to match - “Pirate” is in both ranges. In summary: A beautiful colour and a lipstick I would expect from Haute Couture House such as Chanel.Read full review

Sadly isn’t the same colour/shade ( Pirate99) and doesn’t have the depth / density of colour that’s in the lipstick I had bought directly from Chanel. I enclose a photograph ( on white background) that I took to show the difference.
