The big brother of the Contax 137, the Contax 167 sports a fully manual operation mode via slide button and push button selectors, or the seemingly preferred aperture exposure priority and program modes, an internal precision winder, a 1/4000 maximum shutter speed, solid construction with fine metallic finish. The Contax 167MT is more compact than the R-Series Contax line but offers similar capabilities. A very nice system to use. Number one complaint about the 167MT, there is no shutter speed dial, adjust shutter speeds manually via slide button.

This item looks like could not measure correct illumination to set a correct shutter speed. All exposed films looks like underexposure. Maybe I used it incorrectly. I will continue trail it, again.

I just LOVE this camera. It is the best camera for a person with small hands. I have small hands and I have never had trouble photographing for hours versus with my Nikon I had problems because of the larger motor size to press the shutter. I ultimately sold the Nikon and bought two more 167 MT's just to be sure I always have my favorite camera and never have to use any other. The 167 MT is a basic SLR with 'perks'. She has automatic bracketing control so you can shoot three frames with different values. Overexposed, normal and underexposed. Shoot continuously or one at a time. You can choose center weighted or spot metering exposure compensation and AE lock. The exposure can be manual or automatic and you will be surprised how fast this camera is. The 167 MT shoots continually as fast as you can say 1-2-3, so if you want to shoot a series of pictures of the same subject you get all the movements. I love this camera and can only praise it. It has the right weight, not flimsy and not heavy, just perfect for a woman.Read full review
Even though only a Japanese it takes German high quality glass and is properly calibrated for perfect focus with the screen to render properly sharply focused images.

So. You have a bunch of C/Y lenses and want something thats with a little more automation? Can't afford an Aria or RTSiii, but don't want to settle for a cheap poorly made Yashica made after the Kyocera merger? Well then a 167 MT might be just right for you. Offering a good deal of automation and ease of use at a moderately affordable price.
