I loved reading this story so much. It sets the scene in Sangin, Afganistan during the war where the U.S. Marines are fighting the Taliban and are based in various compounds, facing dangers daily. A bond develops between them and a stray dog that wins a place in each of the Marines hearts. Its an incredible and true story and the efforts to send the dog to the USA, a place to call home and safety.
