    Perfect to Convert an 8pin Loco to 21pin

    I have now standardised on only fitting 21pin decoders to my locos and installing fully independent lighting. I have now used this little board in half a dozen 8pin to 21pin conversions and it is perfect for the job and at a fair price. Yes, it is small as commented negatively by one reviewer, but that is just what you want, replacing the large PCBs in many locos frees up room for speakers etc.

    Great piece of kit to upgrade DC locos ready for DCC.

    This wiring connection for model locomotives is great. It allows the connection of 8-pin decoders to locos that are not DCC ready. Making it easily possible to add DCC decoder and even sound to old locos. These are good quality and a very reasonable price. Excellent!

    Excellent for DCC conversion

    When converting locos to DCC, wiring looms can be useful. But these sockets make life sooo easy. I have recommended them to others on many occasions and they now mostly use these for conversion work. Please note! They are too big for N gauge

    Handy hotwire

    Neat little board which makes it easy to hard-wire locos for DCC and sound. It takes the 21 pin MTC decoder, which seems to be the European standard at the moment. Needs some pretty neat soldering, mind, so not the easiest option for some.

    Really useful DCC accessory

    I needed a way to use an existing small decoder in the cramped space in a Hornby Terrier. A plug in 6 pin won't fit. This proved ideal. It is compact size but with solder points in both sides (3 per side) it makes it so much easier to solder the 6 leads from the decoder. It was then plugged in and decoder could then go on top of the socket and it all fitted snugly in the limited space available. (Hornby with slack quality control supplied loco with 2 broken wires to socket and all wires black!)
