Very nice antenna. Purchased to replace my other CP22E antenna that was damaged by what I don't know. I had it up in the air for about 2 weeks when one day I looked up to check it and saw that the top radiator was bent at a 60 degree angle. I figure a large bird must have hit it.

    cp22e review

    Went together easily. Double screws holding sections together means quality built. I did use loctite on all screws and bolts just in case. Much lighter in weight than previous antenna.

    Could not thread on a PL-259 of any type.

    After rebuilding it to work. It now works. QC pasted this one with out checking. Sorry but it was disappointing. Good design but poor workman ship on the matching unit. Could of shipped it back but did not know it the next one would be the same. Even the hardware did not fit my metric or standard tools.

    Stated specs misleading, but a good solid antenna design

    The CP22e provides about 5 dBi gain... not the 6.5 dB stated in the specs and 6.5 dBd stated in the manual. That's right Diamond lies to your face about the antenna gain to lure the gullible. That said, the E-plane cut shown in their manual nicely matches that of simulation to round out a solid 5 dBi gain... and understand for a dual collinear, 5 dBi is a complete design win - almost 3 dB over a dipole - that's very very good. The included U bolts are very wide and a perfect match to the wide military style mast tops. The radials behave like radials helping to ensure the current stays on the antenna and doesn't flow down the mast and feedline. This is not perfect, but good enough. This antenna is very thin. That may mean less structural sturdiness, but then again the wind loading is ...

    Great Antenna!!!

    Great antenna if you want a 2m only....its a high gain 9 footer so its a great rx/tx antenna. Its my secnd 22e since becoming a ham. cant ask for more for a monoband 2m base antenna, esp. for the price.

    Same but improved!

    Purchased as a replacement for the same antenna that was purchased many years ago and was damaged during roof repairs.This is the same model as the old one, but has a much stronger design. Tubing is thicker and the mechanical connections have been reinforced. Same great performance and heavier construction.
