Difficult to tell how accurate this device is without paying to have the tracking checked professionally afterwards, which rather defeats the point of buying one. But I did check the tracking using this device before changing my track rod ends. It said the tracking was correct which ties in with the even tyre wear I've been getting. So first impressions are it is a simple and relatively cheap way to keep your tracking correct. Especially useful if you do a lot of off road. I've read in other places that it is very important to keep it clean and free from the grit it can pick up off the ground. It is easy to take apart and clean if it does start sticking.Difficult to tell how accurate this device is without paying to have the tracking checked professionally afterwards, which rather defeats the point of buying one. Used this on three wheel setups so far. Appears to work O.K., but has stopped working a couple of times. Upon examination the activating pointer had slipped off it's pivot. At first took a little while to work out trick of relocating pointer, but much quicker second time. The unit does not like being on a base having any dust or dirt, such as a concrete floor. The small sliding roller can get sticky from dust getting into them. But overall it does work, good for the money, but not perfect.Used this on three wheel setups so far. best bit of kit ever....
This is a brilliant piece of kit..... I had a used one given to me 20 years ago, and took it to Canada for 7 years working in vintage car shops. amazed customers who wanted "alignments" done.... I'd say " give me half hour" and they'd be astounded it could be done that quickly and inexpensively. It has accompanied me to a garage in Portugal, and I keep it in my van for instant use. for the money, YOU CANNOT BEAT IT FOR VALUE... it's as accurate as you want to get it, there is a margin for allowable toe in/toe out, and it is easy for single handed operation. you can keep all your laser setups and the expensive price tarriffs.... I'd have one of these anyday.... 10/10 top marks. This is a brilliant piece of kit..... I should have bought one years ago
I have used a Mobry tracking tool for decades, but some cars are difficult to access and often needed two people to hold the tool. I have looked at the Gunson G4008 Trakrite for years and thought it would be a good tool as many other people have found. They were right, it is a good tool and tracking can be done easily by one person. I should have bought one years ago.
