Old but still engrossing
One of the first epic Attenborough documentaries chronicling the development of life from the simplest bacteria through sponges, fish, amphibians to apes and finally man. Attenborough keen to give the best science behind the story not just amazing photography. Some of the photography looks a bit old and amateurish judged by today's standards.

A seminal early work
Although produced in the 1970s this is still a compelling watch. Pre ,deep sea "black smokers" the science seems solid. What I love is the presentation, in particular the music which is slightly strange a bit like Tangerine Dream and complements the 1970s aesthetic.
