As you would expect from Dewalt they have spent a long time getting everything right. All the controls are smooth, easy and positive. Changing chucks is a breeze. The drill is very powerful and has a good level of impact. The drill is very low RPM, which in my opinion makes very unsuitable for wood and metal, but it's a real monster when it comes to masonry. Unusually there is reverse function on the drill which is a large slider under the handle. Very useful. The TSTAK case and accessories seems somewhat inappropriate for the drill. Firstly, this is not really a wood or metal drill so why supply wood and metal bits? Secondly, you wouldn't use this to drill small masonry holes, so why supply those too? Also, the storage space slots in the case are too small. DeWalt would have done far better if they supplied a proper set of decent sized masonry bits and chisels with custom storage area in the lid of the case. The drill spec is fairly low considering the price, but you very soon realise there is a reason for this. There is no doubt in my mind that the drill has been heavily over-engineered for endurance. This drill may not have the highest spec in it's price class, but it's going to last a very long time - and that's important with masonry drills, the impact function takes a heavy toll on both the gearbox and the motor.
