Early days yet for a reliability review but so far a useable strimmer . Negatives: balance is poor but useable No blade option Guard is too big and angular compared to my Kawasaki and other strimmers I’ve used and combined with the nose heavy balance snags too easily making smooth passes harder. Motor is in the head with vent holes that clog with wet grass quickly . Bump Head doesn’t seem overly robust Positives : a great hassle free way to tidy a lawn, compact when folded so goes in the car easily Quiet and powerful enough to do most grass and small weeds 5Ah modular battery is reliable and fits other Dewalt tools and vice versa they are £50 on their own. I like it …no stale fuel ,no broken pull start, no carb strip down, no premix no exhaust fumes and apart from the head noise nice and quiet . Whilst not a strimmer for really heavy duty work ( I’ll be keeping my Kawasaki) it’s a great tool for the everyday garden, simple to use and the variable speed trigger is just the job for the gentler areas. Mine came with a free drill which is great value at this price point. I use solar to charge the battery so great for a remote plot.Read full review

Poor Balance all the weight is in the motor that is always pulling forward. Hence operator is always lifting the tool to where it is needed, even when battery is fitted it still is way out of balance. A shoulder strap of some sort would maybe help but would still not solve the balance problem. Seems to cut well and guard does its job adequately. Handle is about right for the size of the tool and comfortable. Slow speed is found lacking only used high and found this good but battery time reduced. Not as quiet as i had hoped but still great improvement on two stroke screamers. A1 for pollution.

OK this costs a bit more than other strimmers you can buy - nd I have bought some of them. But this one is just brilliant. It is big and powerful and will deal with anything in its path! Beware though - it is a big machine! You must wear protective gear (including goggles) when the tough string gets whirring around it cuts and churns everything - so stuff will fly. Also, the machine is heavier than the cheaper strimmers out there - so if you are not a Mr Universe candidate then consider a harness to make your life a bit easier. Overall - does a fantastic job and worth spending a few bob more for a machine that looks like it will perform for years"

I got this strimmer because my B&D broke after just a year so I needed something sturdier to you the job. Battery lasts ages, cuts through nettles and high growth but also (when you get used to it) does edges etc. But it ridiculously heavy and not comfortable to use.

Have used twice for a short time, it appears to work well, not to happy about battery fitting, feels like it could drop out when using, need to use for a while to get used to its quirks, long term use only time will tell. However for the price it appears to be good value.
