Battery life is not as good as other android tablets i have used in the past, but it will certainly handle all tasks needed of a tablet with energy to spare. The screen however more than makes up for that. fantastically bright and clear. Be aware I also find a few apps are not compatible with the version of android this device is running. being an intel based android device. however for browsing reading and the few other things tablets are good for this is an excellent buy.

Really one of the best Android tablets out there. I love my Asus Nexus 7 but I wanted to try out a slightly larger screen. It's worked out great. Super super slim. The screen is amazing. Great colors. Not weighted down with a lot of bloat ware. Running on Android 5.1 with no updates upcoming. But no one is making this size tablet anymore.

One of the best Android tablets out there right now. Great features, sturdy (mostly metal) design, potent processors, and phenomenal screen. Battery life is average, but still very useable.

To all potential buyers, please do your research before buying this tablet. The Dell venue 8 7840 is absolutely great for the first year and then the problems begin (just outside the warranty period). The tablet starts to shut down at 10%, then 20% and now mine is up to 60%; with no warning it just shuts down. When you plug it in to charge, it says it has 60%. If you check out the forums, I am clearly not alone. I've just bought a new battery in order to try and get another year out of a very expensive tablet. Dell were unable to assist me with this, but that's not surprising as they were unable to assist me with my XPS 15 problems; won't be buying any Dell products anytime soon as their after care is rubbish. The tablet when working is fine, if a little clunky. Has an Intel chip which I don't think assists matters. Apps are slow to open and it takes a full 2 seconds to respond when switching to landscape or portrait mode. I chose the Dell over the Samsung as I'm not a fan of the Samsung UI but it wasn't the right choice. I bought the battery on Ebay, it's marked up as a genuine product and I hope it extends the life of the tablet as I paid £350 for this direct from Dell. Buyer beware!Read full review
