This is another in a series of DeWalt grinders I have purchased over the last 40 years I have been a contractor. This is unquestionably the finest 5" grinder I have ever owned. The fingertip adjustable grinder shield is so easy to get it out of the way. The new type of clamping nut is easy to remove, normally with your fingers. You rarely need a wrench. The paddle switch is great. It doesn't allow the disc to start rotating unless you deliberately release the pin. No more accidental grinding things in my carry up bag. My guys started claiming it as soon as they used it once. They don't want to use the older models that I have, even though they still do a fine job.

So far have used with a dewalt diamond cup wheel to flatten out my garage door threshold. Worked great, I have two 5Ah batteries that wear out about when I need to take a break anyway. Would likely need corded model for bigger projects, but for my dinky DIY tasks, this has top notch power and durability to where I can get the job done fast and conveniently in my free time. Looking forward to the next time I need to pull it out of the drawer.

Portable grinder is great to have for convenience over corded models especially when you're not working in the shop away from an outlet. No more long extension cords. This grinder seems to perform just as well as a corded tool. The blade clamp that doesn't require any tool to tighten is a very nice feature. Just finger tightened will hold the blade. Having a brake to slow the tool down quickly is also a good safety feature. Overall, cordless tools are becoming equal to corded counterparts in powe with more convenient features. I don't think I will ever go back to my corded tools again.

Have only used it a few times so my experience with it is pretty limited but it sure beats breaking out my corded grinder to do a 2 minute job. Was a little surprised by the power it has, being battery powered. Battery seems like it will last quite awhile before needing recharged. Tried both 2 ah & 5 ah, most of my use will only require the 2 ah, the 5 ah will outlast me. Haven't really found any faults yet, but really impressed & satisfied so far. Time & further use will tell.

This grinder is one of many dewalt 20v tools I own and use often. The grinder is super handy for small jobs .the grinder wheel change tool is a hex wrench and I prefer channel lock pliers instead. With a 4AH battery and not excessive load it lasts quite a while. Does not have same power or RPM as the corded version . Will use this tool often.
