This is a great value for money item. It does the job really well but will not give you that high polish finish for really sharp knives. I use it for my axes and then finish with a fine grit water stone.

They come really rough and need to be run down before they work, at first it will seem like all three are about 50 grit but run them against each other under running water for a few minutes and they will start to level out and work decently, I nearly returned these they seemed that bad. They aren't perfectly flat so epoxy them down to something harder and they won't bend as much. I would say that the "extra fine" is probably about equal to 400 grit wet and dry paper, more than capable for softwoods, especially if you follow up with a strop and oxide, I really strongly recommend finding an old leather belt and buying a little bit of chromium oxide compound to go with this set.

It is cheap so don't expect too much. Cuts well but it is not flat with a fair bow up the way and although "Extra Fine" it is a lot coarser than the more expensive fine one i have.

For the price, I cannot find any fault with this diamond hone, It would not be suitable for heavy workshop use, but it is great for sharpening a Plane blade or a Wood chisel every now and then.

I haven't used these for long enough to know how durable they are but they do work. However, they are too small to sharpen a plane iron on easily and aren't even remotely flat. They are OK for the money but I wouldn't go any further than that.
