  • Over Long, Over Complex & DULL

I can't recommend this novel. Like so many of the Virgin New Adventures it's over-complex, too influenced by other SF genres....e.g. Starship Trooper.....and frankly rather dull. I found myself skimming it. The only reason for reading it is that it sees the return of Ace, now a grown woman and a hardened starrship trooper,to the TARDIS. Absolam Daak crops up, the Dalek Killer from the early days of Doctor Who Monthly. Like all comic book characters he's a two-dimensional, one-trick pony.
