EE PAYGO 12 MONTH 120GB SIM

Great value as a backup data sim, especially in dual SIM phones. My only issue with it is the "patchy" EE coverage. I have checked the speed in different locations within 120 mile radius and never got more than 12 Mbps, even when standing in EE shop in Stroud. Despite this, I would buy another in 11 months if still available for around £50.

  • Most critical review

6GB for £15 is a good value, but then top-ups are more expensive

Having data-only PAYG SIM from a leading mobile network seems like a good idea in terms of LTE coverage, however there are a few things to consider: 1. Data allowances expire (the initial one is valid for 90 days, all the top-ups are valid for just 30 days) so it's not the best choice for occasional use 2. Subsequent data add-ons have less value, currently: 100MB - £2.00, 300MB - £5.00, 1GB - £10.00, 2GB - £15.00, 4GB - £20.00, 10GB - £30.00 (all run for 30 days). 3. Top-up early! Once data allowance is all used it's not actually possible to top-up online through the connection (the facility was broken at the time of this writing).

  • An excellent choice for occasional use / replacement for home broadband

Having cancelled my BT landline (and the broadband associated with it), this has become the perfect solution for me as a low data user in a simple household. 6GB spread over 90 days gives me 2GB per month which is plenty for me, so for weekly web surfing, online banking, general browsing, email use, online shopping, kids homework etc, this is perfect. Following the merger of Orange and T-mobile to make EE, EE have really improved their network and data speeds. For me, EE running on 3G through a mi-fi hub at home, data speeds are very good and were on-par with my BT broadband speed. EE shows little slow down are rarely drop outs, even at peak times, which is great! Upload speeds are many times faster than my BT broadband. Remember this is MOBILE BROADBAND, so results will vary locally and is totally dependent on the strength of the EE signal where your device is being used, but for me, at my home where it gets used most of the time, this was the best performing network out of all of the UK networks by far. While the network can physically do it, I don't recommend streaming TV, watching YouTube videos, downloading films or watching catchup TV with this, as the 6GB data will be consumed very quickly. This is also perfect for putting in a Mi-Fi hub and taking away with you on holiday, or for the kids use in the car on the way there. It will work abroad too, so it will mean no roaming charges when abroad because its prepaid. When I first started buying these in early 2016, I paid less than £12.00 on eBay. The prices now are around £18.00 for exactly the same, so demand has clearly risen.

  • A reliable 4g Data Feed when on the move

I am retired and own a camper van which we travel around the country taking frequent Holidays. Most campsites claim to have WiFi but in our experience it is usually a domestic setup with very limited range & low bandwidth. We have 2 Ipads which we run off of the E.E. 4g mobile dongle. At the coast quite a number of coastal areas especially in Wales are yet to be connected with 4g, when this is unavailable the dongle reverts to 3g ok for emailing & small downloads. This company ebs telecoms is my source of supply for this card, if you go direct to E.E. this 6gb data card is not available. The E.E. company's policy seems to be to try to sell you top up card which a time limited usually 30 days!! I have had several discussions with the company, their attitude is atrocious with very little understanding of their own product, but as they have the best coverage of the country with their network I am forced to suffer their poor customer relations. Sorry about the rant, but it's a poor state of affairs when 70 year olds have to point out modern technology shortcomings & the lack of understanding within these organisations

  • Perfect SIM to get you going

This SIM card does exactly what it says. Just push out the size you need, slip it into your phone, switch on, and start making calls. The £10 credit is immediately available, without any fuss, or any need to put on more credit. "Does what it says on the tin"

  • 90 days genuine; doubtful 6Gb; shocking price increase 36% in 7 months

I've had 3 of these now, installed in a WiFi router on a boat. I think they are the best value for a data connection where EE is reliable (of course that's a shrinking footprint now) and you have intermittent usage so that a contract isn't viable. My gripe is that according to my laptop I have never had the full 6Gb. I don't understand why EE and my laptop should disagree about how much data I've consumed, but they do disagree, and EE always empties the card when my laptop is measuring data at around the 5Gb mark. Nothing I can do about that and I haven't found a better alternative. The price has gone up from £14.49 to £19.79 in 7 months so it's really pretty poor value now.

  • Quality service, good price

This SIM card will fit any device because it's multiple sizes in one. You just snap off the outside until you reach the size you want. Very clever. After fitting, you have to go through two stages of registration. Once the first is completed, you have to use the 'back' button to get back to the original page to execute the second phase. Very fiddly. However, 6gb for 90 days at this price is a bargain. I will continue to buy them as I use them rather than topping when it's finished.

  • Amazing

100% genuine, easy to activate, 90 days of use, perfect amount, 6gb is amazing, 4g connectivity, much better value than ee, they give 4gb for £20!!! Highly recommend and I'm going to buy another one, once i've used this one then another and carry on. Superb product for such a low price!!!

  • very good sim card

The 6GB I got for 13days is more than sufficient. We used gps every other day and only used 1gb total, so we had to start using social media just to use up the data but still only managed to used up 2.5gbs total out of 6gb.

  • EE s Crap signal and deliberate data throttling

Should be good if like me you are not online via landline and just want to browse the internet ans send the odd email. should be good to use over 90days. however the signal is usually poor to very poor which is strange as my EE mobile is fine. The only thing i can say is it seems like deliberate throttling of the signal and data so you cant use it for downloading as an EE product i would say its very poor to use and bad value for money
