    Focus ST 2016

    Works perfectly on my car. Installed easy with tutorial and Forscan was easy enough to use. Helped diagnose and clear the DPF issue on my car. One minor gripe would be the drivers are supplied on a disc, which I had to find a PC with an optical drive to transfer to a memory stick for my laptop. Didn’t try the Forscan lite option for iOS as the Microsoft version is free.

    BEWARE - It may not do everything that it claims to do!

    BEWARE. Don't bother with this scanner interface if it doesn't have the manual HS/MS switch. It will only read a fraction of the data available when used in conjunction with Forscan. It did recognise my Mk5 Mondeo but would not scan the systems that I expected it to. In particular it won't read the ABS system and hence you will not be able to put the rear electronic brakes into service mode (which is why I purchased one). I sent mine back and bought another one with the manual switch on and it worked a treat.

    Works with FORSCAN

    Great item. It works perfectly with FORSCAN, it can read and write HS and MS-CAN modules. Very good quality, easy to use. It has all the functionalities of a more expensive Bluetooth or WiFi adapter.

    Good product & seller. Ford ELM327 USB device

    With Forscan (from the forscan website) for free, it works 100% for my 99 Focus so I'm happy and for most people it should pretty much be plug-and-play as it's just USB. Even an amateur can figure out Forscan, though there's plenty of instructions for it however to use this device to your (financial?) advantage may take a little more knowledge than that of a casual tinkerer but for this price you might as well buy it and try it however make sure it works for your vehicle as there is a start and finish year cutoff I think but this is documented in the advert so read it carefully :-)

    Good but not fully compatible with newer cars

    Bought the scanner specifically to adjust an APIM setting. It connected easily with the laptop and car though the flick switch is not marked up as to which side is HS-CAN & which is MS-CAN so initially it’s pot luck to get the link working. Apparently the firmware doesn’t fully recognise all the modules on newer vehicles (specifically Mk4 Focus in my case) so I needed to buy another scanner to complete the change the setting I had bought it for. Frustrating but inexpensive
